Flower Tattoos
Nature offers the natural wonder for tattoo lovers, but flowers are also the representation of a social movement in the United States. The so-called counterculture conformed by young people during the 1960s and early 1970s left as patrimony the “flower power” slogan as symbol of the non-violence ideology.
Young people of today have found in the hippy ideology a renewed way to express their wish for a better world to live in. Flower tattoos often represent these thoughts, being worn by both woman and men. Otherwise, flowers are more likely associated with women.
A few decades ago, it was not normal that women wore tattoos, and those who dared, generally wore discreet tattoos featuring miniature flowers, basically on the ankle, shoulder, and relatively more recently, above one of their breasts. Since the early 1980s, the tattooing culture incorporated more and more women every day.
Today, women not only wear tattoos of all kinds, but also as many tattoos as worn by men. However, flower tattoos remain the more appealing option for women wanting to get a tattoo, preserving their feminine look. Tattooing small flowers is generally the best option for a first-time tattoo.
Flower tattoos can also have tribal connotations, as an example are those exotic Hawaiian designs that usually are appropriate for both, women and men. Daisies and roses are delicate and fragile, opposite to sunflowers, bigger and bolder flowers. Floral designs must reflect part of the character and force of the owner, so the right choice is important.
The advantage of small flower tattoos is that you can always add more to make your tattoo bigger, or design a new tattoo base on your actual flower to get a totally different bigger design. Your tattoo may have as many colors as you like, including nothing conventional, such as green daisies or violet roses, and even a combination of various colors not available in real flowers.
Colorful flower tattoos are often obtained by choosing tropical designs, or creating your new amazing flowers, after all it is just a skin design and not an agronomy transplant. Another benefit with flowers, except these rich-colored flowers, is that they never become old-fashioned, so you can wear you tattoo with confidence for many, many years.
Furthermore, flower tattoos can be applied almost anywhere on the body, including hands, arms, legs, feet, neck, cheeks, abdomen, back and lower back, chest, breasts, and even in the pubic area.
